Description
Magickal Doll (Poppet / Voodoo Doll)
Magickal poppets, also known as spirit dolls or Voodoo dolls, have long been used in folk magick, spellwork, and spiritual traditions across cultures. Crafted in-store at Wax Spiritual, each poppet is carefully sewn and filled with traditional materials to strengthen its purpose. These poppets may be worked for protection, justice, uncrossing, banishing, and deep transformation.
Each doll is filled with Spanish moss, a classic material in rootwork and conjure, believed to hold spiritual energy and connect the physical to the unseen. Spanish moss acts as a binding medium for intent, allowing it to absorb, hold, and direct energy toward a desired outcome. Depending on the purpose, additional herbs, roots, or symbolic items can be included — such as agrimony, rue, black salt, or graveyard dust for defence and reversal work.
Black poppets are powerful tools in sympathetic magick, representing a person or situation and allowing energy to be channelled through them. They are traditionally used for protection, banishing, or return-to-sender rituals, but may also serve in shadow integration and self-work. By personalising your doll with a name, taglock, or petition, it becomes a living vessel for your intention.
Sympathetic magick operates through the principle of “like attracts like.” By working with a representation — such as a doll, photo, or written name — you influence the corresponding energy in both physical and spiritual realms. The Black Magickal Doll Baby embodies the archetype of the guardian and the mirror, reflecting harm back to its source and strengthening spiritual boundaries.
To Work With:
Cleanse the doll with smoke, prayer, or salt water. Dress it with appropriate oils such as Protection, Reversal, or Banishing. You can also add herbs, roots and powders to your doll by stuffing them between the wrappings. Insert your petition or taglock and speak your intention aloud. Keep it on your altar, seal it in a protective jar, or bury it near your home for defence.
Each Black Magickal Doll Baby from Wax Spiritual is crafted with deep respect for ancestral wisdom and the authentic practice of doll magick. It is a sacred tool for those seeking balance, protection, and empowerment through spiritual craftsmanship.
