Description

Archangel Oil is a spiritually prepared condition oil made at Wax Spiritual for angelic invocation, protection, curse-breaking, spirit work and remembrance of the dead.

It can be worked with when calling on the assistance of benevolent angels and spirits, strengthening protection around a person or space, or incorporating angelic symbolism into a wider ritual. It may also be used within ancestral and remembrance work, particularly when honouring those who have passed, praying for the dead or creating a devotional space around memory, guidance and protection.

This is not an oil dedicated to one specific archangel. It can be adapted according to the angel, spirit or intention being worked with, allowing it to sit comfortably within personal devotional practice, candle work, prayer and ritual.

What Is a Condition Oil?

A condition oil is a ritual oil prepared around a particular spiritual purpose or condition. These oils are widely used within folk magic, conjure and practical spiritual traditions, where they may be combined with candles, petitions, charms, herbs, powders, incense and prayer.

The condition refers to the purpose of the working. Some oils are prepared for prosperity, protection, love, road opening, reversal or uncrossing, while others are used for spirit contact, devotional work or specific spiritual intentions.

Condition oils are traditionally used to:

  • Dress candles before burning
  • Anoint petitions and written prayers
  • Prepare charms and talismans
  • Dress ritual tools
  • Anoint photographs or names
  • Work with altar objects
  • Incorporate a specific intention into a larger ritual
  • Prepare objects connected with spirit or devotional work

There is no single universal method. How an oil is used depends on the practitioner, tradition and purpose of the working.

Working with Archangel Oil

Archangel Oil may be used when invoking angelic assistance generally or when working with a particular archangel.

A traditional approach is to choose a white or blue candle, carve into it the name of the person requiring protection, or the name of the angel being invoked, and dress the candle with a small amount of oil before burning.

If it forms part of your practice, the name may also be written or carved using an angelic or sacred alphabet, rather than ordinary lettering. This can add another layer of symbolism to the working and help distinguish the ritual from everyday writing.

A petition may be placed beneath the candle, accompanied by prayer, scripture, incense, herbs or other ritual elements appropriate to the work.

The oil can also be used to dress:

  • Protection candles
  • Angelic invocation candles
  • Petition papers
  • Photographs
  • Talismans and charms
  • Altar objects
  • Doorways or protective items
  • Ritual tools used in spirit work
  • Protection and Curse-Breaking

Within protection work, Archangel Oil can be incorporated into rituals intended to strengthen boundaries, break harmful influence and call on spiritual assistance.

This may include uncrossing or reversal work, protection from hostile spirits or unwanted spiritual attention, or simply reinforcing a working where angelic protection is being requested.

Some practitioners may choose to work specifically with protective archangels, while others may address benevolent angelic forces more generally.

Ancestral and Remembrance Work

Archangel Oil may also be incorporated into ancestral work and remembrance of the dead.

It can be used when lighting a candle in memory of someone who has passed, dressing a candle placed on an ancestral altar, or accompanying prayers for guidance, peace or continued spiritual connection.

A white candle may be dressed with the oil and placed beside a photograph, written name or personal object belonging to the person being remembered. It may also be used alongside offerings, prayer or quiet reflection according to your own tradition.

For some practitioners, angelic imagery and ancestral remembrance naturally overlap, particularly in work concerned with safe passage, protection, guidance and care for the dead.

Use according to your own practice and tradition.

For external ritual use only. Not for ingestion. If using with candles, apply sparingly and keep oil away from the wick and open flame.

In traditional practice, devotional work is built through repetition and consistency rather than intensity. This oil is best used in that same way, as part of a steady rhythm rather than occasional use.

It can be incorporated into daily or weekly practice, helping to establish a clear space for spiritual focus. Petition papers, written prayers, or offerings may be lightly anointed as part of this process, reinforcing intention and presence within the work.

This oil is not directed towards control or outcome-based work. Its purpose is to support connection, reflection, and the act of showing up consistently within your practice.

Each bottle is prepared in small batches at Wax Spiritual, with attention given to balance, usability, and purpose. This is a working oil, intended for those who approach their practice with care, respect, and awareness.
