A Spell to Remove Blockages
One of the most common things people come to me with is that feeling of being stuck. Things feel delayed, nothing seems to move, and no matter what you try, you’re not getting anywhere. Naturally, the first thought is that something is blocking you and that it needs to be removed.
Sometimes, that is the case. But not always.
Without working with you directly and understanding what’s actually going on, I wouldn’t start by recommending a spell to remove blockages. What feels like a blockage isn’t always something working against you. In many cases, it’s a pause. Something you’re not seeing yet, something that needs to be understood, released, or addressed before you can move forward.
It’s frustrating, especially when you feel ready. But it’s worth asking yourself honestly, what am I avoiding, what am I not fully seeing, and am I actually ready to move forward, or do I just want to? Because sometimes you cannot take certain situations, mindsets, or even people with you where you’re trying to go. That’s where clarity becomes necessary.
Spells, or workings as I prefer to call them, are not one-size-fits-all. They can be simple or layered depending on what you’re working with, what you have available, and your own practice. The following working can be incorporated into your practice, using your own judgement around how and when to approach it.

What you will need
- Florida Water
- Sage or Rosemary, choose what aligns with your practice and what you are familiar with
- Road Opener Incense
- Clarity Candle
- Paper or Parchment Paper
- A Porcupine Quill or carving tool
- Citrine, that you can wear or carry
Preparation
Create a space that will not be interrupted or dismantled during the duration of this work. It may take 9+ consecutive days.
Place your items in your space and light your Rosemary or Sage. Ensure your windows are open, then walk around your space and allow the smoke to cleanse the area.
Cleanse your candle by holding the jar above the smoke. Cleanse your paper or parchment, your carving tool or quill, and the Citrine.
Take your time with this. Don’t rush through it.
Your Petition
Write your petition. Your petition is your request, your intention. The focus should be clarity and knowledge.
What do I need to know to move forward?
What do I need to see to move forward?
What do I need to hear to move forward?
“I am ready to know everything, no matter what.”
And yes, no matter what, because you should only be doing this if you are truly ready to move forward. It’s kind of like that red pill and blue pill situation. Are you ready to leap, or will you be satisfied with where you are right now?
You can incorporate who you are petitioning, and whom you are working with. You can incorporate Psalms or religious prayers, or simply write what you want to happen, your intention.
Place this underneath your candle.
Setting the Work
Remove the candle from the jar and use your quill or carving tool to carve your name. Place it back inside the jar. Place the Citrine next to your candle.
Say and focus on your intention, prayer, or mantra while you light your incense, then your candle. Sit, reflect, and focus for at least five minutes.
Allow your candle to continue to burn. For safety reasons, do not burn your candle for more than four hours at a time. Dip the wick into the wax and straighten it. Relight when the glass jar has cooled down.
Ideally, you should burn your candle for as long as possible each day until it burns down completely.
Give thanks once the process is complete. You may simply say thank you, thank whomever you have worked with using appropriate offerings, or incorporate prayer.
During the Work
Take note of any dreams, thoughts, or situations that may occur during this time. Wear or carry your Citrine with you. Place it under your pillow at night.
Clarity doesn’t always come in one moment. Pay attention to what shifts, what becomes clearer, and what starts to make more sense.
What Now?
This work is not created to give immediate results. It’s a gradual process that may take time. It is designed to create avenues of space to be filled with clarity.
That clarity should provide you with what you need to move forward and out of this blocked period. You may, if you have managed to get through this time, continue to receive moments of clarity and understanding. Lessons and acknowledgements are part of your journey and development, so continue to give thanks during those moments.
This work doesn’t remove things for you. It shows you what is actually there. From that, you’ll understand what needs to change, what needs to be released, or what you’ve been missing. That’s where movement comes from.
If you’re asking for clarity, be prepared for it. Once you see something properly, you can’t unsee it, and at that point, moving forward becomes a choice.
