Description
‘Wild Yoni’ – Wild Creativity – 21x21cm
Available in two colours
Wild Yoni – Wild Creativity is a striking digital print that celebrates the intrinsic connection between the human body and the natural world. Measuring 21×21 cm, this artwork is available in two refined colour schemes: a bold Brown & Black version and a subtler Light Brown alternative. The piece is a digital reproduction of an original reduction linocut, meticulously produced by hand in Colchester in 2024 by the gifted artist Sophie Maliphant.
This print pays homage to the full expression of the feminine spirit and its boundless creative energy. The title ‘Wild Yoni’ draws on ancient symbolism; the term “yoni” is derived from Sanskrit and traditionally represents the sacred womb and the source of creative power. In many ancient Eastern traditions, the yoni is revered as an emblem of fertility and transformation, closely associated with the goddess Shakti – the personification of divine feminine energy. Moreover, it resonates with the sacral chakra, a vital centre linked to creativity, emotion, and sensuality. In this way, Wild Yoni is not merely a decorative object but a potent reminder of nature’s enduring capacity to renew and heal.
Sophie Maliphant’s work embraces imperfection as a natural form of beauty, ensuring that each print is imbued with its distinctive character. Beyond its visual appeal, this artwork serves as an invitation to reconnect with age-old wisdom and the rhythms of the Earth. Whether it is displayed in a living room, a meditation space, or a personal altar, Wild Yoni adds a touch of thoughtful elegance and symbolic depth to any setting.
For optimal longevity, it is recommended that the print be framed using acid-free materials and positioned away from direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure may cause fading. Please note that slight variations in each print may occur due to its handcrafted production, enhancing its individuality. Wild Yoni is designed for decorative and inspirational purposes and should be treated with respect appropriate to a work of art that honours the enduring magic of nature.
