2026: The Year of Being Teachable
For many people, 2025 felt like a collective purge — a year where no stone was left unturned and some form of dissolution or upheaval took place. Over the past year, many expressed feeling as though they were fighting multiple battles, challenged across all areas of life.
Collective energy has a way of making us feel as though we are the only ones experiencing it. When you’re in it, it can be difficult to see through the fog. Rest assured, you are not alone in experiencing this denseness.
So if 2025 felt like an undoing, what does that mean for 2026?
I have been describing 2026 as the year of being a newborn. While this may sound exciting, there is also a great deal to discover within the unfamiliarity of being fresh and new. There is much to learn and many stages to graduate into. This learning requires us to remain teachable.
To be teachable asks us to lay our tools down for a moment. It asks for openness and vulnerability, and a willingness to receive knowledge and insight in ways we may never have before.

The Year of Being Teachable and Unexpected Guidance
When pulling cards to explore the energy of 2026, I drew the Five of Wands (Before Tarot) and the Eight of Swords (After Tarot).
The essence of this message is clear: you have been face-to-face with challenges. You have sat in the belly of the fire, meeting opposition head-on, ready and armed. The difficulties of the past year arose because, at some level, you declared yourself ready for change. Many of us asked for transformation without fully understanding how destabilising that process could be.
Yet the Eight of Swords reveals something important. When we meet challenges directly, we also begin to see who our allies are and where safety & support exist. In this deck, the red-gowned woman is gently assisted out of her mental entrapment by a figure who stands in quiet service. Help has been present all along. For many of us, the work has been recognising who or what that support truly is.
This is where 2026 comes in.
The year ahead feels like a gradual unveiling. A deepening awareness of your path, of who stands beside you, and perhaps most importantly, of who your teachers and guides are.
2026 is not about choosing a new destiny. That threshold has already been crossed. Through the shedding, surrender, and purging of the last year, you committed to a path and anchored yourself to it. The work now is to stay the course and allow unexpected helpers to emerge.
Whenever I tune into the energy of 2026, I see an illuminated path. Along it, unfamiliar souls step forward — offering a hand, a word, a moment of insight. Unlikely teachers appear, quietly opening doors you didn’t know existed. While many of us hope for a dramatic, visible transformation, 2026 brings change through subtlety.
2026 asks just one thing of you:
Remain open.
Remain humble.
Remain teachable.
