Description

Shadow Work: Destroy & Rise Again Spell Candle

A set of three dressed and blessed spell candles prepared in-store at Wax Spiritual. Each slim pillar is layered with botanicals, roots, and condition oils traditionally associated with deep self-examination, emotional confrontation, release of stagnant patterns, and structured personal renewal.

This is not a light or decorative working.

Within many spiritual traditions, shadow work is believed to involve facing uncomfortable truths, dismantling limiting behaviours, and consciously releasing identities that no longer serve growth. Destroy & Rise Again work is undertaken when a person is ready to examine what must be stripped back before something stronger can be rebuilt.

The trio format allows the process to unfold in stages: acknowledgement, release, and reconstruction. Some practitioners light the candles on consecutive nights to work through each phase intentionally, while others use them during journalling, therapy integration, or personal ritual periods of deep change.

Size: 1.8 × 1.8 × 12 cm | 0.7 × 0.7 × 4.7 in
Contents: Set of three candles, dressed with select herbs, roots, and condition oils.
Note: Highly flammable. May contain botanicals and essential oils that could pose risks during pregnancy.

Who this is for

This working is suited to:

• Individuals consciously addressing repeating patterns
• Those ending cycles of self-sabotage
• Practitioners confronting grief, resentment, or suppressed anger
• People navigating identity shifts or major personal transformation
• Anyone ready to dismantle what feels stagnant before rebuilding

It is not intended for reactive emotional moments.
It is for deliberate internal work.

How to use

Cleanse your space with Sage, Rosemary, incense, or a quiet grounding practice.
Write a clear petition naming the pattern, behaviour, belief, or attachment you are ready to dismantle. Be honest. Fold the paper away from you and place it beneath the candles.
If your practice allows, dress the petition with a few drops of a grounding or clarity-focused oil.
Light the first candle with the intention of recognition.
Light the second with the intention of release.
Light the third with the intention of rebuilding on stronger foundations.

As the candles burn, focus on personal responsibility rather than external blame. Visualise unnecessary layers falling away and a steadier version of yourself emerging.

Working with the trio

Three nights in a row: Recognition → Release → Rebuild.
Three separate shadow sessions: Use each candle during journalling or reflection periods.
Grounded layout: Place the candles in a straight line to represent progression and forward movement.
Pairing: Works well beside a journal, mirror, written affirmations, or grounding stones such as Smoky Quartz, Obsidian, or Hematite, believed within spiritual communities to support clarity and emotional stability.

Intention examples

  • Breaking self-sabotaging cycles
  • Releasing unhealthy attachments
  • Addressing internalised fear or resentment
  • Rebuilding confidence after loss
  • Ending repetitive emotional patterns
  • Preparing for a conscious personal reset

Traditions and correspondences

Within spiritual communities, shadow work is often associated with the root chakra for stability and the solar plexus for personal accountability and power. Some traditions link transformational work to cycles of death and rebirth symbolism. Participation is optional and should follow your personal path respectfully.

After the burn

Keep any remaining wax near your journal or workspace as a reminder of commitment to change. Dispose of remnants respectfully once the phase of work feels complete.

Candle safety

Burn on a level, fire-resistant surface, away from drafts and flammables.
Trim the wick before each use and never leave a candle unattended.
Keep away from children and pets.
Avoid use during pregnancy due to botanicals and essential oils.

For private ritual use only.
