Description
Wax Spiritual is delighted to host a Tarot Reading Workshop with Mimi.
This workshop is an opportunity to focus on what so many tarot students and enthusiasts crave: hands-on practice. Rather than simply studying card meanings, you will spend this session actively practising readings with others in a safe and supportive space. The emphasis is on building confidence, exploring your own style, and learning through doing.
During the session, you will participate in paired and group practice, exchanging readings with fellow participants. Mimi will be on hand throughout to offer feedback, encouragement, and live guidance. She will also introduce practical techniques for opening up at the start of a reading and closing it at the end, helping you to ground and contain your work with confidence and clarity.
Mimi is an experienced tarot reader, astrologer, and spiritual counsellor whose approach is reflective rather than predictive. Her readings honour the relationship between mind, body, and spirit, encouraging tarot as a tool for self-awareness, healing, and growth. With more than a decade of experience in specialised mental health settings, Mimi brings a trauma-informed perspective to her spiritual practice, blending psychological insight with intuitive depth.
In this Tarot Reading Workshop, Mimi will support you to:
- Practise tarot readings in a safe and guided environment
- Explore opening and closing techniques for grounding your work
- Gain confidence in phrasing questions and interpreting cards in context
- Receive supportive feedback and guidance while practising with others
We recommend bringing a Rider–Waite–Smith tarot deck (sometimes called Rider–Waite or RWS). First published in 1909, it is one of the most widely used decks in the world, with clear and symbolic imagery that makes it ideal for learning. Many beginner and intermediate resources are based on this deck, which means the language and symbolism used during the circle will align easily with it. If you do not already own one, Rider–Waite–Smith decks are available to purchase in-store or online ahead of the workshop, and we advise adding one at checkout.
This two-hour session is about much more than memorising card meanings. It is an invitation to practise, reflect, and grow as a tarot reader, whatever stage you are at. By the end, you will have strengthened your skills, deepened your confidence, and gained new perspectives on your own reading style.
Whether you are completely new to tarot or looking to expand your practice, this workshop offers a welcoming and supportive space to learn by doing. Mimi’s guidance ensures that each participant leaves not only with greater confidence but also with a renewed sense of connection to the tarot itself.
