Wax Spiritual is hosting its second-ever Tarot Workshop, and we would love to welcome you into this space. Before we do, we wanted to share some of the intentions and benefits behind the workshop and what you can expect from joining us.
What is it?
This is a gathering for those who already own a tarot deck and wish to deepen their practice, whether for personal development or professional growth.
The workshop is an opportunity to further explore your own tarot reading style, strengthen your confidence, and connect more deeply with your intuitive voice as a reader.
The session is intentionally intimate, with approximately 6–8 participants, creating a supportive and welcoming environment for learning and practice.
Throughout the workshop, participants will practise reading for one another, both giving and receiving readings, whilst also receiving guidance and teaching from Mimi Makina, an experienced Spiritual Practitioner.
What will be taught?
Working with Reversed Cards
One of the most common questions readers ask is whether to work with reversed cards, and the answer is yes.
Reversed cards can offer entirely new layers of interpretation, meaning, and depth within a reading. They can reveal hidden influences, shadow aspects, blockages, or internal experiences that may be surfacing beneath the surface.
During this workshop, we will explore how to connect with and interpret reversed cards in a way that feels intuitive and accessible.
Applying Cards to Different Domains of Life
Tarot can be applied to all areas of life, including relationships, work, spirituality, personal growth, and emotional wellbeing.
During the session, we will explore how the meaning of a card can shift depending on the area of life being explored. By combining symbolism, keywords, intuition, and energy, you will begin to develop confidence in applying cards within different contexts and situations.
What are the intentions of this group?
Gain Confidence
The more you practise, the more confidence you build in yourself as a tarot reader. There is no expectation for you to be an expert or to read in a particular way.
Develop Your Own Style
Everybody shuffles differently, interprets differently, and connects to tarot in their own unique way. This space is designed to help you trust what you receive and gives you the opportunity to receive real-time feedback and support.
Deepen Your Intuition
You will be guided to trust your senses and intuitive impressions as you connect with the cards and deliver readings. Strengthening this connection is key to developing confidence and authenticity in your practice.
Mutual Exchange
This workshop is rooted in mutual exchange. You will both give readings and receive readings throughout the session, allowing you to experience tarot from both perspectives.
An experienced Spiritual Practitioner will also be present throughout to provide support, guidance, and feedback during practice exercises.
Make Connections
The ethos of practising within a group is to build connection through shared interest and curiosity. We hope this workshop offers a welcoming space for conversation, learning, and community.
Supporting Your Journey
You are welcome at any stage of your tarot journey, whether you are completely new to tarot, returning to the cards after time away, or transitioning into professional practice.
This space is here to support your growth and help you develop your relationship with tarot in a way that feels authentic to you.
We recommend bringing a Rider–Waite–Smith tarot deck, one of the most widely used decks, known for its rich symbolism and accessibility for learning. If you do not already have one, decks are available to purchase in-store or online ahead of the workshop.
This two-hour session is an invitation to practise, reflect, and grow, moving beyond memorisation into embodied reading. Whether you are new to tarot or looking to deepen your practice, you will leave with greater confidence, practical skills, and a stronger connection to your own intuitive voice.
We look forward to welcoming you into the space.
