These ceramic sugar skulls are hand-painted in Mexico by skilled artisans, each one individually finished, meaning no two are ever identical. The vibrant colours, floral motifs, and bird imagery reflect living folk art traditions connected to Día de los Muertos, a cultural observance that honours remembrance, continuity, and the enduring bond between the living and the dead.
While inspired by the visual language of traditional sugar skulls, these are decorative ceramic pieces rather than edible alfeñique.
