Description
Creative Ritual: Combining Yoruba, Santeria and Western Magic Tradition is an eclectic and transformative guide to modern magical practice. Authored by El Obatala—an initiate of both Yoruba spirituality and the Western Mystery Tradition—this paperback offers a wealth of practical instruction designed for contemporary practitioners. In its pages, El Obatala reveals how the ancient wisdom of Yoruba, with its rich pantheon of Orishas, and the intricate symbolism of the Qabala share common undercurrents, blending seamlessly with elements of Santeria and Western ritual practices.
This book serves as a comprehensive manual for those wishing to forge their own eclectic rituals. It begins with clear guidance on psychic preparation, including meditation techniques and chakra alignment to ready the mind and spirit. Detailed instructions are provided for casting a circle to create a sacred space, constructing and consecrating an altar, and choosing, blessing, and empowering ritual objects. The practical section on crystal empowerment explains how specific stones can be used to balance energy centres—especially the heart and crown chakras—while the methods of divination are explored through the use of cowrie bells, playing cards, and a pendulum.
Ideal for sacred gatherings and personal meditative practices, “Creative Ritual” bridges ancient spiritual traditions with the pragmatic needs of the modern world. The text is imbued with down-to-earth spiritual insight that is accessible to beginners yet rich enough to engage seasoned practitioners. Readers are encouraged to adapt and integrate these practices into their own lives, creating rituals that resonate with personal belief systems and cultural influences. A gentle reminder is offered throughout the book: approach all ritual work with respect and mindfulness, ensuring that each practice honours the sacred traditions from which it is drawn. Whether you are beginning your spiritual journey or deepening an established practice, this guide provides a unique framework to nurture your connection with the divine.
