Description
Alchemical Hermeticism: The Secret Teachings of Marco Daffi on Initiation by David Pantano is a detailed exploration of the life and work of a remarkable 20th-century Hermeticist. Born Ricciardo Ricciardelli, but known in esoteric circles as Marco Daffi, this enigmatic figure spent five decades immersed in the mystical teachings of alchemy, Hermeticism, and spiritual transformation. This book brings his teachings into the spotlight, offering readers a rare insight into his path, practices, and philosophy.
Daffi was deeply influenced by Giuliano Kremmerz, a key figure in the Italian Hermetic revival. Pantano’s book explores Daffi’s approach to initiation, consciousness, gnosis, and spiritual healing. A core part of Daffi’s practice was his use of past-life regression as a tool for inner healing and personal evolution. He believed that accessing one’s past lives could release karmic patterns and open the door to true self-realisation.
The book also examines Daffi’s exploration of oracular consciousness — his ability to connect with subtle energies, divine insight, and the deeper layers of the self. His teachings blend theory with practical ritual and inner work, encouraging spiritual seekers to experiment within their own “inner laboratory.” Readers will find guidance on how these teachings can be used today for deeper self-understanding and transformation.
Alchemical Hermeticism goes beyond Daffi’s personal writings to include reflections from those who knew him, including initiates and students. These voices help build a vivid picture of Daffi’s legacy. One particularly striking section covers the so-called “Trial of the Magus,” a conflict that emerged between Daffi and Kremmerz’s descendants during the fascist era in Italy — a reminder of the political and spiritual tensions esoteric practitioners often faced.
Whether you are an experienced occultist or simply curious about Hermetic philosophy, this book is a valuable resource. Rich in history, practical wisdom, and spiritual depth, it offers a timeless message for seekers on the path of transformation.
