Harmony Within: Finding Ritual Amongst the Mundane
February is often experienced as a quieter month. The festive energy of winter has passed, and we are left with the reality of colder days and shorter light. It’s common for people to notice a dip in mood, motivation, and routine during this time.
At the same time, February carries themes of love and remembrance globally through Valentine’s season, and through Black History Month in the US and Canada. Both invite reflection, honouring, and connection to something deeper. With this in mind, February offers a natural invitation to work with restoration, harmony, and union, both with others and with ourselves.
This month is an opportunity to come back into wholeness. While many find that New Year intentions begin to soften or fall away around now, we invite you to meet this moment gently. Rather than striving or pushing, this is a time to cultivate quiet ritual as a way of bringing meaning, presence, and care into everyday life.
Ritual does not need to be complex or ceremonial. Often, it is simply intention meeting awareness. While ritual is frequently associated with formal spiritual or religious practice, at Wax Spiritual we understand ritual as something living, something that can be woven into the rhythms of daily life. This month, the invitation is to return to simplicity and allow harmony and love to move from the inside out.

There is no correct way or timeframe for ritual. The intention here is not consistency for its own sake, but attentiveness. Allow ritual to gently breathe into the mundane, rather than placing pressure on yourself to “do it right”.
Ways to Invite Ritual In
There is no correct way or timeframe for ritual. The intention here is not consistency for its own sake, but attentiveness. Allow ritual to gently breathe into the mundane, rather than placing pressure on yourself to “do it right”.
Rising Ritual
The moment of waking is a subtle window. As we return from sleep into the mind and body, there is often a brief window where we can soften the transition rather than rush through it.
Before reaching for your phone or getting out of bed, take a moment to reconnect with yourself. You might place a hand on your heart or abdomen and quietly ask:
“What does my body need to receive today?”
This simple pause helps anchor you into the day with presence.
Water Ritual
Water is naturally cleansing and restorative. It carries movement, creativity, and renewal, making it a powerful ally in ritual work.
Using an oil blend of your choice (this month we highlight Attraction Oil), place a few drops into a bowl or vessel of water (not for consumption). Hold the vessel and take a moment to set an intention around what you wish to invite into your life whether that is clarity, connection, ease, or inspiration.
Let the water hold that intention.
Honouring the Thresholds of Your Day
Throughout the day, we move through many small transitions that often go unnoticed, arriving home, closing a laptop, washing your hands, and changing clothes. These moments are natural energetic thresholds.
Pausing briefly at these points allows you to consciously release what has passed and arrive more fully in what comes next. Even a quiet breath or moment of acknowledgement can become a grounding ritual.
Winding Down
How we close the day matters. Whether through journalling, bathing, or sitting with a cup of herbal tea, create space to unwind with intention.
As you do, you might gently offer yourself affirmations such as:
“Harmony settles into my heart, my home, and my spirit.”
“I release what no longer serves me and keep what nourishes me.”
“The energy of today softens, and I welcome calm and balance.”
You may wish to light a candle, such as the Love and Harmony Candle, as a symbol of love, grounding, and closure.
At Wax Spiritual, we believe ritual is not about adding more to your day, but about meeting what is already there with care, awareness, and reverence. In doing so, the ordinary becomes sacred.
